Evaluation of a Hyaluronic Acid–Mannitol Injectable Gel for the Improvement of Nasolabial Folds

In 2021, a clinical investigation was conducted at Dermalab on 30 volunteers undergoing facial rejuvenation to evaluate the efficacy of an injectable gel containing hyaluronic acid and mannitol in reducing the severity of nasolabial folds. All injections were administered by board-certified dermatologists with extensive procedural experience.

A reduction in nasolabial fold severity was observed in 89% of participants at 2 weeks post-injection, in 86% at 3 months, and in 61% at 6 months.

Patient-reported satisfaction was high, with mean scores ranging from 8 to 9 on a 10-point scale.

Quantitative outcome assessments were performed using standardized digital facial photography, the Visioface imaging system, and high-frequency skin ultrasonography, all of which were reviewed by the attending physician. Reported adverse events were limited to mild and transient localized erythema and edema.
